WESTFIELD, NJ—The Westfield Area Y will celebrate World Yoga day on Sunday, Feb. 24, with its third annual yoga fundraiser from 4:15 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The cost—a $25 contribution—also gets participants a free two-week pass to all yoga classes at the Westfield Area Y. Proceeds will benefit the Y’s Strong Kids Campaign, which ensures that no one experiencing bona fide financial hardship is turned away from the YMCA due to inability to pay for programs or memberships.
This year’s event, which is designed for all levels, will focus on the seven chakras—centers of life force and vital energy on the body.
Participants will experience two and a half hours of yoga sessions. The opening program begins with everyone together and will cover the chakras and how they intermingle in the physical and spiritual body. Yogis can then choose two of the four shorter workshops that will further explore the chakras. For the final session, everyone will reunite for a closing that will include a variety of relaxation modes.
The fundraiser will be held at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street in Westfield. Register online, at the Welcome Center or through a Y fitness instructor. Contact Jean White with any questions at 908-233-2700 x246 or email@example.com.
