WEST ORANGE, NJ - Zufall Health, a federally funded community health center, held its official ribbon cutting ceremony at their newest office located at 95 Northfield Avenue in West Orange. The Northfield Avenue location is the first Essex County site for the nonprofit health center which has been operating in North Jersey for nearly 25 year.
On hand for the ribbon cutting was Assemblywoman Mila Jasey, founder Dr. Robert Zufall, Eva Turbiner, Zufall Health's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Rina Ramirez, Zufall Health's Chief Medical Officer, Dennis Gonzalez, former Region 2 Executive Officer at the US Dept. of Health and Human Services, Megan Brill Director of the Downtown West Orange Alliance, and several local medical organization representatives.
Zufall West Orange provides primary care and support services for insured and uninsured. They accept most insurances and can be utilized as an insured individual's primary care physician. The health center offers a broad range of on-site services, including treatment of illness and injury, physical exams, prevention and management of chronic illness, referrals to specialists, and guidance on leading a healthy lifestyle.
The health center will also offer behavioral health services including counseling for families, couples, individuals, and children over the age of five. Services will be provided by a bilingual staff of board-certified doctors, nurses, and highly qualified support personnel. Additional services will be added in the near future.
All patients are welcome regardless of income or insurance status. Zufall accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and New Jersey Family Care as well as most private health insurance plans. Patients without insurance will be charged a sliding scale fee based on their income. It is recommended that patients check with Zufall regarding their eligibility for all services.
West Orange Hours are currently Monday - Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Zufall expects to expand to six days a week and include early hours, later hours and Saturday.
