Westfield High School students in Denise DeNicola’s Business Principles & Management class recently completed a 4-week marketing project that included developing a new product or service, writing a marketing plan, and creating a corresponding TV commercial.

Students simulated real life business situations as they worked in teams to produce marketing plans and commercials, which they ultimately presented within the class.  To assist the students in making commercials, Television Production teacher Jason Ruggiero (shown standing) offered his expertise to students, including (l-r) Sean Bohrod (back to camera), Jackson Boyle, Holden Ehrhart, Morgan Maloney, and William Nisley.

“The students were totally engaged in developing a new product and were very excited about using the TV equipment, editing and making a fun, yet professional commercial,” stated DeNicola.  “It was a fantastic experience learning all of the parts that go into creating just a 30 second ad, and the class really appreciated Mr. Ruggiero’s assistance in this cooperative undertaking,” she added.
