WEST CALDWELL, NJ - Dana Longo will be the new teaching instructional supervisor of Mathematics, Business and Technology for the 2014-15 school year in West Essex. A resident of Madison, Longo taught in the Millburn school system for nine years.
Longo will succeed Diana Schoenblum, who retired in June. The West Essex Regional Board of Education approved Longo’s appointment at its June 23 meeting.
“I graduated with a math degree from Lafayette College, and after working for a few years in the corporate world, I decided to look for a more fulfilling career knowing that I always had a passion for education,” she said.
Besides her degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., Longo also has a master’s in leadership and mathematics education from Bank Street College of Education in New York.
“I am very excited about joining the West Essex school community,” Longo said. “I have heard wonderful things about the administration, staff, students and parents. As the new Supervisor of Math/Business/Technology, I am looking forward to working closely with the teachers and continuing to enhance the curriculum. I plan to collaborate with staff and administration to continue to further develop and promote academic success in the West Essex schools.”
