I would like to summarize why Madison residents should vote for me on November 5 for the Board of Education.
Madison is full of capable and engaged citizens. If we could give them more information about district issues, there would be more participation in policy issues, more minds in the game.
We know that the schools in Madison are top performing. But I believe that with just a little attention to it, we could spread that awareness better outside our borders, and attract even more education-minded families, which would strengthen our district into the future.
Fiscal responsibility is key. I am the only candidate calling for video coverage of the Board of Education meetings, similar to how it is done for the Borough Council. That type of coverage would give rise to more cost-saving ideas like the one I brought to the district, to eliminate the Assistant Superintendent position ad replace it with a Curriculum Director.
I am candidate that tracks academic results the closest. I would best keep the district focused on academics. Let’s support out Mathletes!

My seventeen years of financial investment management experience would be very helpful to the Board, particularly with Pat Rowe departing. Much of my investment management work involved public funds, with public oversight and accountability, making me exceptionally in tune with how to develop the potential benefits of public scrutiny.
I have a passion for education. I am a faculty member in the Economics and Finance Department at Baruch College in New York. I teach undergraduate and graduate students. My knowledge of the rewards, and the challenges, would aid district policy making.
Support Tom Piskula on Nov. 5
Overall, I have the best combination of experience, positions, and passion. Please vote for Tom Piskula on Tuesday, Nov. 5th.
