EDISON, NJ – The Edison Office of Emergency Management is warning drivers to avoid Route 1 Northbound due to a dangling power line.
The left two lanes on route 1 are closed between Forest Haven Blvd and the Conrail Rail Crossing at this time creating a choke point leaving one lane open. Heavy traffic is to be expected.
A power line directly above Route 1 is the cause for the lane closures.
According to a representative from PSE&G, there are currently 84 customers without power in Edison. Power is expected to be restored by mid-afternoon. The outages are attributed to last night’s storm.
