The Independent Insurance Agents of Essex, Morris, Sussex and Union counties announce the qualifying tournament for the 2012 Trusted Choice Big “I” National Championship. The tournament is open to all junior golfers – boys and girls – 18 and under.
The local qualifying tournament will be held at 8:00 a.m. at Canoe Brook Country Club on Monday June 9th 2014 according to Trusted Choice Big “I” Chairperson Glenn Allsopp of Allsopp Chadler Insurance. “Come on out, have some fun and enjoy this spectacular golf course” A box lunch is included with your $30.00 registration fee.
Winners of this local qualifier will earn a spot in the New Jersey finals at the Old York Country Club Chesterfield N.J. on Monday July 7, 2014. Go to www.iiabnj.org & hit Events for more information.
The Top New Jersey qualifiers will advance to the Trusted Choice Big “I” National Championship set for August 5-8, 2014 at the Pete Dye Club West Virginia. Go to www.bigigolf.com for more information
On the national level the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA) sponsor the tournament. As junior golfers, current PGA tour players Tiger Woods & Billy Andrade each won two Big “I” Championships. While they both had successful runs in the tournament, there is a distinguished list of professional players who as juniors played in the Big “I”. They include Fuzzy Zoeller, Bob Tway, Craig Stadler, David Duval, Hale Irwin, Justin Leonard and Phil Michelson. Most recently, Summar Roachell from Conway AK won the girls title in 2012 along with Austin Smotherman from Loomis, CA won the 2012 boys title.
