The initial investigation revealed that the operator of a 2012 Cadillac, later identified as Marianne Lyons, of North Caldwell, allegedly struck two parked vehicles in the lot. During the course of the investigation, it is alleged that the 55-years old Lyons was unable to perform field sobriety tests administered by Officer Nicholas which ultimately led to her arrest.

Lyons was transported to police headquarters and eventually charged with:

  • Driving while intoxicated

  • Driving while intoxicated within a school zone

  • Careless driving

The North Caldwell resident was eventually released on her own recognizance and given an initial court appearance date of Thursday, Aug. 22, in the Fairfield Municipal Court.
