SPARTA, NJ- Edison Road and Ryker Lake became movie sets on Sunday when the band The Dig filmed a music video along the upper stretch of the road. The exotically costumed performers did cause some heads to turn as cars drove by between takes. The site was selected by their production company but band member Mark Demiglio said, "It's perfect."
The Dig is an indie-rock and roll band from Brooklyn. Erick Eiser plays keyboard and guitar. Emile Mosseri in on bass and shares vocals with David Baldwin. Baldwin also plays guitar. Demiglio is the drummer. Two of the band members have been playing together since they were ten.
The Dig has been touring for nearly five years supporting their two albums. They released Electric Toys in 2010 and Midnight Flowers in 2012. Their latest efforts are two EPs titled Tired Hearts and You & I, both in 2013. They have toured with bands such as The Lumineers and The Walkmen.
The video they were filming on Sunday was for two new songs, Cold Afternoon and So Alone. The Dig has filmed on location in Las Vegas, the Hamptons and the Financial District in Manhattan.
