Imagine losing a loved one and having no one to support you through the grief. That is when neighbors are so important. State Farm became a “good neighbor” to families in Union County and surrounding areas by supporting Imagine, Inc.
Recently Senator Tom Kean joined State Farm Agent Christine Cosenza at Imagine’s office in Westfield, NJ, to present a grant for $3,500. Senator Kean serves on the Leadership Council of the organization and State Farm Agent Cosenza marks her second year supporting this group.
A year-round grief support center located in Westfield NJ, Imagine, Inc., provides programs for children and teens who are coping with loss due to the death or terminal/chronic illness of a parent or other primary caregiver. The program also supports parents and guardians in concurrent support groups. These sessions strengthen the entire family.
“This is our second year supporting Imagine, Inc. We understand the challenges families face during illness or loss of a loved one and I am proud that State Farm can support them during their healing process.”, said Christine.
Recalling why she started the organization, Founder and Executive Director Mary Robinson said, “As adults it is our job to help children navigate life’s painful losses and create loving supportive communities in which children can mourn their losses in healthy ways. That is the work of Imagine, and we are thankful for State Farm’s support.”
