Start of New Raritan Valley Line Schedule May Be Altered by Impending Snowstorm

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - The start of NJ Transit’s long anticipated, regularly scheduled “One Seat” off-peak train service on the Raritan Valley Line into New York City on Monday, March 3, may be delayed because of yet another winter snowstorm.

The new schedule, which was set to include the inaugural “One Seat” train into New York Penn Station leaving at 8:43 a.m. from Raritan, may have implementation delayed if severe weather conditions result in changes to weekday rail service.  In the event of a “significant weather event,” NJ Transit would operate an enhanced weekend schedule rather than a normal weekday schedule on Monday.

Commuters are advised to refer to the weekday panels for basic service information and that additional service not shown on the timetable may also operate.  Connecting services may differ, as well.
