SHORT HILLS, NJ - “Real Housewives of New Jersey” personality Kim DePaola shared the personal story of her rise to success and the obstacles she encountered along the way with 70 local members of B.I.G. (Believe, Inspire, Grow), the women’s education, support and networking group, who gathered to see a fashion show of designer styles from Posche, DePaola’s store in Wayne, NJ. The clothing was modeled by B.I.G. leaders from Livingston, Summit/New Providence, Montville, and Long Valley; by Posche models; and by Karolina Dehnhard, a family law specialist from Short Hills’ Budd Larner, who focuses her practice on matrimonial law, including divorce, child custody, parenting time, alimony, child support and domestic violence issues, who hosted and sponsored the event.
Before they took to the runway, Livingston resident and Co-leader of Livingston’s B.I.G. pod Jennifer Bronsnick, Melanie Wilson, Kathy Reidinger and former Livingston High School Graduate, Aimee Schenkel, who leads the Montville B.I.G. pod—the models from B.I.G.—were given complete makeovers by Moxie Salon stylists Angel Martinez and Steven Gambutti.
A mantra of B.I.G. is that in order to be successful in a business venture, it is critical to love what you are doing. DePaola, Denhart, Martinez and B.I.G. co-founder Tara Gilvar echoed these sentiments to the crowd, which sipped wine from Wine 34, and sampled chocolate from Eatable Sweetables.
“When it comes to anything you want to do in life, you need to have passion,” Martinez said. “If you find something that excites you, you’re going to put 110 percent into that.”
DePaola added, “When you have a crazy, busy life, you need the right people around you…not the people who are going to say ‘You can’t do this,’ but the people who say that you can, and that they are going to help you succeed.”
B.I.G. offers a visionary path for women entrepreneurs. A rapidly growing business support, education and networking organization for women, B.I.G. is comprised of a large community of more than 1,500 intelligent, creative and entrepreneurial women. The organization offers more than 50 local community meetings each month across five states, ongoing regional networking events such as this event, as well as an interactive and informative website.
B.I.G.’s Gilvar said, “B.I.G. is for women in all stages of their careers, whether they are stay –at-home moms just exploring new opportunities or are seasoned entrepreneurs. “The common thread,” she said, “is that they want to support each other and help each other succeed, through sharing of contacts, ideas and resources.”
B.I.G. meetings are held monthly throughout New Jersey. Check out www.believeinspiregrow.com for meeting locations, times, speakers, and future special events.
