Scotch Plains Police Blotter

8/12                     A resident of Willow Ave. reported being a victim of a theft. She stated that sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle.  Once inside they removed undetermined amount of cash.  Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.

8/12                      A resident of Front Street reported being a victim of harassment. He stated that he has been having an ongoing dispute with a former business partner who calls him several times a day.     

8/12                      A resident of East Second St. reported being a victim of a theft. He stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle. Once inside they removed the vehicle registration. Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.

8/13                      A resident of Cook Ave. reported being a victim of fraud. He stated that unknown suspect(s) took out a loan for approximately $3,000 in his name without his authorization.

8/13                      Justine Lopez, 22 of Bostwick Ave. Jersey City, was arrested for a $700 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court. Officer Lavery stopped Lopez for a motor vehicle violation on Park Ave. and discovered the warrant.  She was transported to H.Q. where she was processed and released.

8/14                      Robert Walker, 30 of Crestview Ave., Union, was arrested for a $500 outstanding warrant issued by the Fanwood court. Officer B. Belford stopped Walker for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

8/14                      Several residents (four) on Bonus Hill Drive reported being victims of criminal mischief. They stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) knocked over their mailboxes

8/14                      Several residents (nine) on Greensview Dr. reported being victims of criminal mischief. They stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) knocked over their mailboxes. 

8/14                      Matthew Dudek, 20, of West Grant Ave. Roselle Park, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.  Sgt. Peal stopped Dudek for a motor vehicle violation on Cooper Road and while speaking with him she smelled a strong odor of alcohol. After Dudek failed several field sobriety tests he was arrested and transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released

8/18                      Anthony Smith, 30, of Netherwood Ave. Plainfield was arrested for a No Bail Warrant issued by the Union County Sheriff’s Dept.  Officer Citarella stopped Smith for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and then turned over to the Union County Sheriff’s office.
