PLAINFIELD, NJ - Ninety children from Elizabeth and Plainfield had a cool time thanks to a group of Union county engineers.
Employees from The Linde Group’s Merchant and Package Gases (MPG) team recently visited 30 children at Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless, located in Elizabeth, and 60 boys and girls from the Second Street Youth Center in Plainfield. The Linde Group is a world-leading gases and engineering company with around 62,000 employees in more than 100 countries worldwide.
At both locations, engineers demonstrated Linde cryogenic gases and the MPG team participated in games and crafts with the children. At the end of the day, children were presented with Linde backpacks containing school supplies.
“Spending the afternoon focusing on community service activities was extremely rewarding,” said Steve Salva, a Linde engineer. “The children were amazed by our demonstrations and it felt great to do something helpful while having some fun."
