PATERSON, NJ – The Northside Branch of the Paterson Free Public Library will hold a grand opening celebration on Saturday.
The event will take place at the Christopher Hope Community Center at 60 Temple St., Room 3, between 2 and 4 p.m. The first 200 children attending the grand opening will receive a free drawstring backpack.
The former Northside Branch library on North Main Street suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Irene in 2011. Although the new Northside Branch on Temple Street is already open and functioning, Saturday’s ceremonies and festivities will make it official.
The grand opening will feature entertainment, refreshments and book giveaways. For more information, visit www.patersonpl.org or call (973) 321-1309.
