NJ Division of Consumer Affairs to Announce Complaints Against Local Jewelers

TRENTON, NJ – The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and the Office of Weights and Measures are set to crackdown on a major jewelry market in central/northern New Jersey.

At the conclusion of a statewide investigation, Attorney General John Hoffman and Division of Consumer Affairs Acting Director Steve Lee will announce complaints against 21 jewelers accused of violating “Cash for Gold” Consumer Protection Laws.

The 21 businesses have connections to Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex and Union counties.

The investigation team, led by Lee, will announce their findings on Thursday at the New Jersey Office of Weights and Measures in Avenel, beginning at 11 a.m.
