Kayla Cares 4 Kids will have a table at National Night Out to collect books, DVDs and electronics for distribution to children in hospitals. More information can be found at www.kaylacares4kids.org. The Livingston Police Department is a collection point for the charity. Any items that cannot be brought to National Night Out can be brought to police headquarters at any time of day or night. LIVINGSTON, NJ - In addition to fun filled events scheduled through out the evening, National Night Out event will also include an opening ceremony at the gazebo at 5:30 p.m.
To begin the ceremony, “God Bless America” will be sung by the Old Guard and the police department will also be recognizing the Crime Prevention Community Member of the year.
Livingston’s event is generously supported by donations from Target, Huntington Learning Center, All-Around Entertainment, Gerard “Junior” DaSilva, Livingston Mart, Starbucks, Eppes Essen, Corigliano Towing, and MMG Transportation LLC.
Hot dogs, pizza and drinks will be provided free-of-charge. Dave Gilenson of Gilenson: The Gas Grill Experts and the Livingston Police and Fire Departments will be manning the grills and pizza is being donated by many of Livingston’s pizzerias.
There will be displays from various local organizations and businesses. Any organization or local business that would like to have a free display table at the event is asked to call the Community Policing Unit at (973) 992-3000 extension #3600.
In case of rain, the event will be held inside Livingston High School.
