MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ - Brett Montgomery scored two goals and picked up an assist and goalie C.J. Albanese made 26 saves in posting the shutout as Chatham defeated Morristown, 4-0, on Thursday night at Mennen Arena.
After a scoreless first period, Montgomery scored an unassisted goal to give Chatham a 1-0 lead heading into the third. The Cougars broke the game open with three power-play goals in the third period, set up when Morristown's Matt Bauer was sent to the penalty box with a major penalty for a hit from behind.
Montgomery scored off a pass from Robert Graziano on the first power-play goal of the third to make it 2-0. Bryn Casey also scored a man-advantage goal, with assists from Hunter Acone and Teddy Simson. Graziano netted the final goal with assists being credited to Simson and Montgomery.
Shane Brown made 20 saves for Morristown.
