Chelsea Zbesko, 2010 graduate of New Providence High School, PR/Communication major at Monmouth University, and member of Monmouth University's Shadow PR Firm and PRSSA Chapter, is playing an integral role in Monmouth University's inaugural dance to raise awareness and money for The Valerie Fund.
The Valerie Fund Children's Center for Cancer at The Unterberg Children's Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to help thousands of local children who require chemotherapy and/or radiation, but benefit immeasurably from receiving treatment close to their homes in a non-clinical setting filled with caring specialists. The devastating diagnosis places enormous stress on the patient's family, and parents and siblings are well supported through this emotional journey by devoted Valerie Fund staff members.
Monmouth Hawks Dance Together, a six-hour dance-a-thon fundraiser at Monmouth University, offers a fun-filled night with great food, music, contests, games, as well as a silent auction. The money raised from HawksDance will assist in funding the programs the local children need to maintain a normal lifestyle while in treatment. "It is exciting to be a part of planning and executing an event that supports kids with cancer. I am learning my trade while helping out for a good cause," says Chelsea Zbesko, senior student at Monmouth University located in Long Branch, NJ.
In order to make this event a success, the firm needs your help and support! For more information or to donate to Chelsea's team (Team McKenna), go to www.thevaleriefund.org/MHDT to show your support today!
