BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ. - Theater lovers don't have to go very far this weekend to enjoy live performances right in Basking Ridge, with the youthful Musical Theater Camp at Bishop Janes United Methodist Church to present "Godspell" on both Friday and Saturday nights.

Both Friday and Saturday evenings also will feature the final two performances of Basking Ridge-based Trilogy Theater Company's "Play On," part of the Plays in the Park series presented each summer in cooperation with the Bernards Township Department of Parks and Recreation.

Trilogy's free performances, with donations gratefully accepted, will begin both of those nights at 8 p.m. at the outdoor amphitheater at Pleasant Valley Park off Valley Road in Bernards Township. Theater-goers are invited to bring a lawn chair.

Bishop Janes' annual summer theater camp this year is staging "Godspell" at 7:30 p.m. for two nights. The production, directed by Jaye Barre, Trilogy's president, features young performers who have been rehearsing during the camp.

Tickets for "Godspell" are $12 for adults, and $10 for senior citizens and ages 12 and younger. For information on tickets, call the church office at 908-766-1108, ext. 101.
