311 Arts consultant Laura Burnham, who has been working intently on a business and fundraising plan with the boards of 311 Arts and Discover Lansdale since being hired last year, and fundraising consultant Schultz & Williams are expected to update Lansdale Borough Council and the public on their progress thus far.
“Schultz & Williams and Laura Burnham and volunteers are putting together a board of directors and volunteers for the capital campaign,” borough Manager Timi Kirchner reported at Monday’s joint meeting of the Communication Commission and Economic Development Committee.
She said all involved have been gathering a lot of information to help with the proposed future of 311 Arts.
“We felt that it’s best to do a presentation to all of council, rather than selecting a committee (to tell council) what it’s recommending,” Kirchner said.
Economic Development Committee member Richard Strahm, who sits on the 311 Arts board of directors, said the fundraising plan continues to come together.
Next month, cornerstone members of 311 Arts are invited to a Sept. 10 fundraiser for 311 Arts, Strahm said.
“There are opportunities in the way of businesses that want to support 311 Arts,” he said. “I hope the next time we meet here, I hope there is some very positive news of how all that has worked out.”
