BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Sip, create and inspire -- Envision an upscale lofty feel of a Soho hot spot while unleashing your creative energy in painting while unwinding with a glass of wine -- socializing and just having fun. Kayla's Creative Art Studio is opening on June 6, conveniently located in Berkeley Heights with parking.
"Say sayonara to your last predictable bar, club or cafe experience, and welcome a new taste of culture, fabulousness, and creativity to your nightlife," said owner Sheri Levine-Shea.
Shea's idea of the Paint and Sip has been in the works for over a year. "It was tricky to open in New Jersey with BYOB laws," said Shea. "It was challenging getting it approved because it was 'new waters' for Berkeley Heights. I did a lot of research and we got it approved."
The concept is easy -- whether it's a girls' night out, date night, bachelorette party, bridal shower, fund-raiser, corporate team building event, children's party, or any other desire - Kayla's will provide the premise of a unique, relaxing and intimate artistic experience.
"Say you're looking for something to do on a Friday night," said Shea, "you can look at the calendar on the website to see what painting is being offered. If you are interested you can sign-up."
Classes are two to three hours depending the complexity of the painting said Shea. "The art instructor will walk you step by step -- down to what brush to use; what colors to mix; and what steps to do first, second and third." There are also plenty of breaks to socialize, eat and drink said Shea.
Kayla's has teamed up with local restaurants to hold events while the studio is being constructed. The classes are limited to 25 participants and fill up quickly.
Shea had partnered with Nagoya's Tiki Bar in Berkeley Heights on Tuesday night with a full class of 25 participants. "It is going great," said art instructor Alicia Bynoe. "We have some repeat people which is a really good sign."
"This is so much fun. Honestly, this was one of the best things -- it is so relaxing," said Suzanne Honey, mother of two young children. "It's better than hanging out at a bar, you're actually creating artwork."
Visit Kayla's website for a calendar of events as well as information on scheduling your own party or event.
Kayla's Creative Art Studio is currently accepting registrations for their Children's Summer Camp and will be offering morning and day time family and children event sessions. Evenings will be adult only with BYOB unless the event is noted as a "Children's" or "Family" event.
Kayla's Creative Art Studio is located at 629 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights. For more information contact the studio at (908) 516-2670 or email email@example.com.
