GREEN BROOK, NJ -- In a last-minute decision, Somerset County has decided not to close the Jefferson Avenue bridge between Green Brook, Plainfield and Dunellen for repairs as scheduled on Monday.
Somerset County Principal Bridge Engineer Brian Maurer said that the delay is not due to traffic concerns related to a combination of construction projects in the area.
“It’s due to a lack of availability of materials,” said Mauro. “We will be making the repairs, but it will remain open on Monday.”
There is currently no timetable for when the repairs will be started again.
