Grove Street Railroad Grade Crossing Closed for Repairs August 8

MONTCLAIR, NJ - New Jersey Transit announced Monday that the Grove Street railroad grade crossing (between Claremont Avenue and Walnut Street) will be closed for track repairs starting on or about August 8. The crossing will be completely closed to vehicular traffic until August 25 – please keep in mind that all work is weather-permitting, so this date may change. Pedestrians will be able to pass through during non-working hours.

Track construction will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; and between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Motorists are advised to avoid this area if at all possible. Detour routes will include Claremont Avenue, Walnut Street, Christopher Street, Greenwood Avenue and Pine Street.
