BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ -  Sounds of whistles blowing, football pads thudding and groans from soccer players running laps around the perimeter of the field can only signify one thing -- fall sports pre-season training has begun at Governor Livingston High School.

Football, soccer, field hockey, girls tennis and cross country teams pre-season practices officially began on August 12.  The schedule includes long hours of drills, conditioning and scrimmage play.   With the start of the fall season less than two weeks away, coaches around GL are working to install their schemes and gauge the level of talent on their squads.

GL Football hosted Chatham High School and Roselle High School to pre-season scrimmage games on Friday, August 23.  Preparing the team for opening day against Scotch Plains/Fanwood on September 12.

GL Football is hosting the Second Annual Family BBQ to kick off the 2013 Season on Saturday, August 24 at the school.  Building team spirit and comradery between players from the Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams.
