WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange Department of Health has announced that they will be sponsoring two free Rabies Vaccination Clinics during the month of January, which is Dog and Cat Licensing month.

The first clinic will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Department of Public Works, 25 Lakeside Ave., from 10 a.m. to noon.

The second clinic will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Fire Station #4, 280 Pleasant Valley Way, from 3 to 4 p.m.
Dogs must be restrained on leashes and cats contained in carriers. A licensed veterinarian will administer the vaccine.

Animal Licenses are available for sale at both clinics.  Dogs and cats are required to be licensed each year in West Orange Township.  Pet owners must have proof of valid rabies vaccinations to purchase their annual license.  For information on pricing and additional requirements to purchase dog and cat licenses, go to: http://www.westorange.org/index.aspx?NID=241.

Owners may choose to get rabies vaccinations for their pets at their private veterinarian office.  Proof of the vaccination must be provided to receive the annual license.  Dog and cat licenses may be purchased at the Health Department, 66 Main St., in Room 203 or through the mail.
