On Sunday, January 20th, Amy Walejewsky, a member of the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Dance Company, received a workshop scholarship from the Associated Dance Teachers of New Jersey.
This scholarship is awarded to only 12 students at every workshop based upon positive attitude, active participation in the class, dance etiquette, enthusiasm for the work being presented, and effort expended during the classes.
The Associated Dance Teachers of New Jersey is a non-profit professional organization for dance teachers established in 1936. The dance workshops bring top of the line master classes to New Jersey.
The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Dance Company is for dancers ages 7–18 who are interested in expanding their performance skills. The company participates in workshops, attends performances, compete at competitions, and perform in varies venues. The dance company is hosting an audition for interested dancers on February 2nd at 3:00 p.m. at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA located at 1340 Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains.
