EDISON, NJ – Community residents are invited to Edison’s annual 9-11 remembrance ceremony at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11th, at the Papaianni Park’s 9-11 Memorial Fountain.
Speakers will include Mayor Lankey, other municipal officials and Middlesex County dignitaries. Edison Police and Fire Honor Guards, bag pipers, vocalists and clergy will set the tone for this reflective occasion.
“Our community is proud to honor the memory those who lost their lives in the senseless 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and on United Flight 93,” Mayor Lankey said. “We must always also remember the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives in America’s War on Terror in the years since 9-11.”
Papaianni Park is located at the end of Municipal Boulevard, off Route 27 in Edison. For further information, please contact the Edison Recreation Department from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. weekdays at (732) 248-7312.
