SUMMIT, NJ - Girl Scout Daisy Troop 40397 in Summit is helping to make the world a better place within their own community and beyond.
Recently, the troop donated $45 to the Summit Area YMCA Annual Campaign, which allows the Y to provide financial assistance to local individuals and families in need so they can benefit from Y programs and services. The funds were raised by the Daisy troop through the sale of Girl Scout cookies.
In addition to the money they donated to the Y. the girls also donated over 100 boxes of cookies that were sent to soldiers in Afghanistan. Both donations were part of their "making the world a better place" petal, which they proudly earned. Representatives from the Y visited the girls at Lincoln Hubbard Elementary School to thank them, and tell them how their donation makes a difference in the lives of so many.
