BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Jeanne Kingsley, a Berkeley Heights resident for 18 years currently serves as President of the Township Council. Previously, she served as Vice President and as a Councilwoman.
Kingsley was directly responsible for establishing the Berkeley Heights Downtown Beautification Committee. She has a strong commitment to working with downtown landlords, business owners, and residents to improve the appearance of our town and to create a pedestrian friendly environment. Under her leadership, the Committee brought new flags and banners as well as holiday decorations that have brightened our streetscapes. Having raised funds for the projects, these efforts have not increased the burden on our taxpayers. Kingsley has made great strides in developing public/private partnerships and continues to research and pursue alternative funding for downtown improvement as well as maximizing all funds for these purposes. She is committed to pursuing any County or State grants available as well.
In addition, she serves on the township Communications Committee. Having served as both the Governor Livingston and the Hughes School P.T.O. Treasurer, she has also chaired several P.T.O. committees. Kingsley was a trustee and member of the Finance Council and a core member of the Strategic Planning Team for the Church of the Little Flower and the Berkeley Heights Board of Education.
Her professional experience is primarily in the area of finance and strategic planning. As a C.P.A., she has worked in the audit practice at Deloitte and as a Vice President at Prudential Insurance in the Controller’s Department where she built their planning and analysis function as well as established a business measurement and performance group. Currently, the CFO of Teachers Insurance and Annuity recruited her to lead various strategic projects within the Finance function of the company.
She and her husband Ed have four children.
