Columbia Middle School 8th-Grade Students Raise $4,885 For Team Spencer And Relay For Life

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The 696 registered youth participants in this year's Relay for Life of Berkeley Heights have raised $136,603 to date. Among the top youth fundraising teams are Team Spencer, Pioneers, Peer Leaders and The Miracles -- all reaching the Silver Team Fundraising Club Level by  raising in excess of $3,500. 

This was Team Spencer's first year participating in relay and they raised $4,885 for the fight against cancer. Jack Machado was the team captain of this group of Columbia Middle School eighth-graders. The team relayed for Machado's cousin, Spencer Jacovini, a student at Woodruff Elementary School, who is a brain cancer survivor and also a member of the team. 

Relay for Life of Berkeley Heights was held on Saturday, June 7 at Gov. Livingston High School.
