The 2014 Chatham Football Cougars campaign has begun.
The Cougars compete in the NJ Suburban Youth Football League (NJSYFL) which was founded in 1972. "Since its inception, the program has grown and matured significantly and now affords more than 4500 boys and girls an opportunity to to participate in youth football and cheerleading programs."
Per the NJSYFL "The league is currently comprised of 19 town programs. There are playoffs, Super Bowl, and an All-Star game to enhance the enjoyment of the participants and help teach the value of competition and good sportsmanship."
All Chatham Cougar Youth coaches are required to be certified by USA Football and annually take continuing education courses. USA Football is "Football's national governing body, leads the game's development, inspires participation, and ensures a positive experience for all youth, high school, and other amateur players."
Additionally, coaches are also trained and certified in proper equipment fitting by Riddell.
