CLARK, NJ - The Township of Clark will hold its annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration on Friday evening at the Arthur L. Johnson High School field at 365 Westfield Road.
Festivities start at 7:30 with a DJ playing music and games in the horseshoe in front of the Municipal Building directly across the street from the field. Food vendors will be stationed at the High School. Sausage & peppers, Oriental barbecue, kettle corn, ice cream and zeppole are some of the treats available to buy.
Bring blankets and chairs to spread out on the field for the best view of the fireworks. Westfield Avenue will close to traffic at about 8:00 pm. Overflow crowds can then set up in the street.
Fireworks will start at dark, generally between 9:00 and 9:15 pm.
According to Recreation Director Ralph Bernardo the event draws upwards of 10,000 people per year. Parking is available in the high school lot until the lot is full or the road is closed. The township has hired a new fireworks vendor and is anticipating a fabulous show.
The rain date for the event is Saturday, July 5. With unpredictable weather on the horizon, check back at www.tapintoclark.net for event updates.
