BOONTON, NJ - Boonton Main Street, Inc. will be hosting First Friday Late Night: Artists on Main on Friday, Sept. 5 from 12-9 p.m. along Main Street in Boonton. This event will feature artists painting live scenes of Main Street as well as the Dog Daze of Summer dogs. Many of the artists will be donating their pieces for auction to the Dog Daze Charity Auction/Taste of Main taking place on September 20 at the Boonton Elks Lodge, 125 Cornelia Street, Boonton. Tickets are still available to the Dog Daze Auction/Taste of Main through the Boonton Main Street office.
Artwork and live music will be featured at many locations along Main Street for the First Friday event. Businesses will be open late and many will be hosting special events. This evening is a great opportunity to experience Main Street's unique shops, amazing art galleries, and fabulous restaurants.
Participating artists and locations are as follows: Laurie Harden (BMS office), Erika Domanico (Culture Cabin), Elisabeth Ladwig (Papyrus Home Design), RoByn Thompson (Urban Dweller), Adrienne Charlton (Café y Canela), Jackie Charlton (Café y Canela), Joanne Stone (across from Black River Gallery), Ellen Avigliano (House of Kabob), Anthony weird*eye*one (Post Office), Mike Moran (Corner of Main St./Plane St.), David Oquendo (Post Office), Aric Calfee (The Boonton Boardwalk), David Scott Leibowitz (Black River Gallery), Maryann Infantini (Roma Pizza), Jessica McCole (Heavenly Temptations), Annette Hanna (Yolanda's Cocina Cubana), Brenda Decker (Broadfoot and Broadfoot), Donna Compton (Compton Gallery), Jeff DeSmedt (Speakeasy Art Gallery), Yuri Yurov (YYY Studio), and Dave Pucciarelli (Iconic Images Art Gallery).
Plein Air artists include: Brian Krivak, Tim Maher, Pat Flaherty, Bernadette deCesare, Judith Leeds, Makiko Highton, Susan Sopira, and Michelle Lamb. These artists will be at locations of their choosing along Main Street.
First Friday Late Night: Artists on Main will also feature the Montclair Art Truck with Dan Fenelon parked across the street from Sharky's West restaurant on Boonton Avenue. The Montclair Art Museum Art Truck is a mobile open studio, housed in a retrofitted ice cream truck that offers free art projects and lessons to the community.
First Friday Late Nights are a monthly program put on by Boonton Main Street, Inc. to provide retailers and the community a venue to convene to share in the joy of all that the Boonton Main Street district has to offer.
