WEST ORANGE, NJ - Barnabas Health, the state’s largest health care system, served as a sponsor for the recent Belmar Chase, a 5k road race held in Belmar.  The event featured the Barnabas Health Celebrity Challenge“race before the race” where Mayors and community leaders from local towns, along with 2012 U.S. Olympians, competed in a handicap race on the same course. Participating “celebrities” competed for a chance to win a share of a $7,500 purse prize, provided by Barnabas Health, for their respective recreation departments. Mayor Parisi took home a check for $1,000.00 for the West Orange Department of Recreation.
