WARREN, NJ- Registration for the Fall soccer season is now open. Based on feedback from the spring, the program is being tweaked to enhance the soccer experience for the players.
United Soccer Academy will still train and coach all teams through the 4th/5th grade division. However, the trainers will only train one team, instead of two. Training will consist of one hour during the week, 15 minutes of warmup before the Saturday games, and the coaching of the games.
Senior (6th-8th grade) divisions will not change. United Soccer Academy will still train the team individually for one hour during the week and parents will still coach the teams on Saturday.
Parents who would like to remain involved in the 1st, 2/3 or 4/5 divisions can sign up as Assistant Coaches. Participation as an assistant to the trainers is encourage, however, If you are interested, you MUST have all coaching requirements fulfilled before you will be assigned to a team. Working with the trainers will help you develop your coaching skills so you are prepared to assume a Head Coach role in the Senior Division. There will only be one Assistant Coach per team. Coaches are definitely needed for the Senior Division.
Team Managers are needed for 1st, 2/3 and 4/5 divisions. This person will be responsible for handing out uniforms/awards, informing everyone of the schedule and coordinating parent attendance at practices. One non-coaching parent from each team will need to be at practice if a team does not have an Assistant Coach who attends. The Team Manager and non-coach parent do not have to complete the coaching requirements.
The fee is $125 per player ($100 for preschool and pre-k) and all regular registrations must be completed by July 31st. After that date there is a $50 late fee ($25 for preschool and pre-k).
