Imagine was awareded a grant from The York Children’s Foundation which was established in 1992 to disburse funds to non-profit organizations that work for the benefit of children. Laura Mann, a volunteer facilitator with Imagine and a funeral director at Memorial Funeral Home, assisted in securing the donation for Imagine. Memorial Funeral Home is also a loyal supporter of Imagine.
"We are so grateful to Laura for not only volunteering her time as a facilitator but for also advocating on our behalf to obtain this funding," said Robinson. "The grant covers the cost for one child to attend Imagine free of charge for one year. Our programs are completely free to children and families for as long as needed, so this type of support from the community is what make it possible for us to exist."
Imagine offers free year-round grief support groups for children age 3-18 who are coping with loss due to the death of a parent, sibling or other significant family member or friend, or children who are coping with a parent or primary caregiver who is living with illness. Concurrent support groups are available for parents and guardians of the children and for young adults 18-30, and adults 30-50. Support groups meet on Mondays and Tuesdays for an hour and a half. Dinner is provided prior to the group meeting. For more information please contact Imagine at 908-264-3100 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
