WATCHUNG, NJ - Hillcrest Road reopened Tuesday morning after a head-on collision Monday night sent two to a hospital and closed Hillcrest Road for hours.
The crash and subsequent sirens and helicopter shattered the night quiet. At about 10:30 p.m. Monday night, one car traveling north on Hillcrest Road crossed over the double yellow lines, causing a head-on crash with another vehicle traveling south, according to the Watchung Police.
One of the drivers was flown to University Hospital in Newark and the other was taken by ambulance.
The drivers' names are being withheld pending notification of family members.
