Get To Know Your Kid—Join Adventure Guides at the Madison Area YMCA
Sunday, December 22, 2013 • 5:45pm
Embark on a journey of discovery with your child as the explorer and you as the guide. Adventure Guides at the Madison Area YMCA provides the opportunity for parents and their children to grow together by participating in group activities such as games, crafts, songs, stories, skits, ceremonies and outdoor pursuits that include camping, hiking and swimming.
The Adventure Guides program:
• Enhances the quality of family time by providing a framework to spend uninterrupted meaningful time together.
• Builds upon the Parent/Child relationship while enhancing self-esteem and personal worth through specialized activities and trips.
• Provides the opportunity to build community with other families who have children the same age.
• Develops an appreciation of the outdoors through camping and outdoor experiences.
Adventure Guides, for parent/child groups with children in kindergarten through 3rd grade, participate in monthly activities and campouts. Senior Guides, for parent/child in grades 4-8, participate in more challenging activities such as rafting, hiking and tent-camping. Form your own group by reaching out to friends or meet new friends—we’ll match up your family with other families! A YMCA membership is required to participate in Adventure Guides. A special Adventure Guides membership is available; other fees may apply.
