First United Methodist Church of Westfield is delighted to host the 50 member German "Choir Ephata" from Friedrichsdorf, Germany. This dynamic choir has prepared an exciting concert of secular and religious music in English and German to perform on Sunday, March 24 at 3PM. The Choir is directed by Sebastian Hammann and Benedikt Baum. The concert will also feature the talents of members in small groups and instrumental soloists.
The "Choir Ephata" has toured extensively since the year 2000 in countries including the USA, England, the Czech Republic and the Republic of South Africa. The highlight of their travels is the opportunity to perform and meet the people of their host churches and those who attend their concerts. Admission is free; a free-will donation will be taken to help cover the group's expenses. Following the concert, those attending will have the opportunity to greet the singers. Westfield is the inaugural concert of a two-week tour that will take the choir to Delaware, Maryland, North and South Carolina and ending in Georgia.
First United Methodist Church of Westfield is located at One East Broad Street. Access to the parking lot is from the rear of the church on Ferris Place. For additional information please call the Church Office at 908-233-4211.
