Florham Park Man Arrested After Fight on Train

On January 15, 2013 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Ptl Sean McCarthy arrested 51-year-old Kamal Matharu of Elizabeth NJ. Matharu turned herself in on the strength of a Madison Municipal Warrant in the amount of $250. Matharu posted bail and was released pending a court appearance.
On January 18, 2013 at approximately 5:15 p.m., Ptl. Stephanie Corrao arrested 47-year-old Vishwa Adlurie of Madison. Adlurie turned himself in on the strength of a Springfield Municipal Warrant in the amount of $120. Adlurie posted bail and was released pending a court appearance.
On January 27, 2013 at approximately 3 p.m., Ptl. James Cavezza arrested 47-year-old Vishwa Adlurie of Madison. Adlurie turned himself in on the strength of a Jersey City Municipal Warrant in the amount of $100. Adlurie posted bail and was released pending a court appearance.
On January 29, 2013 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Ptl Anthony Maccarrio responded to a home under construction on Hamilton Street on report of criminal mischief. According to the contractor, an unknown actor gained access to the home and turned on a shower head causing about a foot of water to flood the basement. In addition, flexible ducts were ripped from the ceiling and were left hanging. This investigation has been turned over to the Madison Police Bureau of Investigations. On January 3, 2013 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Ptl Stephanie Corrao arrested 24-year-old Mark Kannell of Florham Park. While checking the Madison Train Station, Corrao was flagged down by a train passenger about a fight in progress. Corrao made contact with a group of individuals who appeared to be involved. The group pointed out Mark Kannell, who apparently was the aggressor in the incident. As Corrao attempted to contact Kannell, he ran from the scene. Corrao chased after him and was able to apprehend him as he made entry to his vehicle which was parked in the Kings Road lot across from the train station. Corrao arrested Kannell and charged him with obstruction of the law. He was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.
On January 4, 2013 at approximately 3 a.m., Ptl Chad Rybka arrested 27-year-old Olivia Basil of Randolph. While patrolling State Highway 24, Rybka stopped Basil’s vehicle for allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed. During his investigation, Rybka detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from Basil’s breath. Rybka had Basil perform field sobriety tests. The investigation determined that Basil was allegedly operating her vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Basil was charged with driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, speeding, and reckless driving. She was released to a friend and awaits a court appearance.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
