Firefighters Rescue Drunk Man from Roof, Cops Charge Him with Trespassing

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Just after 4 a.m. Sunday morning the police got a call from a family on Farragut Road that there was someone on their roof knocking on a second floor window. Police arrived to find a man still on the roof, so drunk that he was unable to climb down on his own. North Plainfield police called the fire department which climbeb up to rescue the man, bringing him to the ground safely.
No one was injured in the incident.
Police determined that the man was Richard Buckley, a 19 year old resident of Plainfield. Buckley was so intoxicated that he was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for medical treatment.
It was not reported if Buckley knew the family living in the home or if the selection was random.
As a result of the incident Buckley was charged with trespass and disorderly conduct.
