EAST ORANGE, NJ - Residents of East Orange packed Calvary Baptist Church on Monday to participate in the East Orange Clergy’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration. Attendees young and old from all across the city populated the church auditorium.

Youths from the City of East Orange Recreation Department served as greeters, hosts and assistants to seniors in need of care and direction. The E.O. Cheerleaders created a short cheer dedicated to Dr. King as part of the days festivities.
Rev. Dwight Gill, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in East Orange gave the keynote address; reminding the congregation to return to those principles and practices that have maintained the African-American community for decades and Dr. King instituted during his lifetime.
