BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - On Wednesday, October 23, 2013, Sgt. Robert Deitch arrested Tiffany Kirkland, 22, of Scotch Plains. Kirkland was the operator of a 2011 Chevy and was stopped on Plainfield Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. Further investigation revealed an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and after obtaining consent to search it, a small amount of marijuana was recovered. Kirkland was brought to police headquarters, processed and charged with possession of marijuana and improper use of a cell phone. She was given a date to appear in Berkeley Heights Municipal Court and released.
On Wednesday, October 30, 2013, Ptl. Frank Mea arrested Daniel Nylec, 25, of Wallington. Nylec was the operator of a 2005 Audi and was stopped on Timber Drive for a motor vehicle violation. A computer check revealed an outstanding warrant from Fair Lawn in the amount of $750.00, at which time, Nylec was placed under arrest. Nylec was brought to police headquarters, processed and charged with driving without a seatbelt.
