On Wednesday, June 26, 2103 at 4:10 p.m., Patrolman Frank Mea arrested Ryan Kitson, 23, of New Providence. Kitson was the operator of a 2000 Dodge and was stopped after a random license plate check revealed that he was operating his motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Upon further investigation, Kitson was found to be in possession of nine wax folds of suspected heroin. Kitson was brought to police headquarters, processed and charged with possession of heroin and driving while suspended. Kitson was given a date to appear in Union County Superior Court and released.
On Friday, June 28, 2013, Patrolman Ed Gaffney investigated a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim, a resident of Saw Mill Drive, reported that sometime during the overnight hours, a pair of fog lights, valued at $262, was stolen from her 2013 Honda. The matter has been referred to the Investigations Division.
On Friday, June 28, 2013, Patrolman Donato Minicozzi arrested AC, 54, of Berkeley Heights. AC was the operator of a 2012 Infiniti which was being operated in the parking lot of a Springfield Avenue bank. Further investigation revealed that AC was intoxicated. A subsequent search, revealed AC to be in possession of one wax fold of heroin and 15 oxycodone pills. AC was brought to police headquarters, processed and charged with possession of heroin, possession of oxycodone, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while intoxicated. AC was given a date to appear in Union County Superior Court and released into the custody of a friend.
